Orchids

We ran our first Wildlife and Flowers holiday in 2007, the group came back at the end of the first day full of enthusiasm; no-one could believe how many different orchids they’d seen, even Philippe the guide was buzzing. Through the week they saw 25 different orchids, and over the years we’ve gradually added to the list, now well into the 30’s, including the Lady’s Slipper and the very rare Spitzl’s orchid. It’s not just about the orchids of course, there are too many flowers to list in this amazingly diverse area, plus many butterflies, mammals, and over 200 different bird species. Even the bats thrive here, there are designated protected areas in the region where significant populations of common and rare bats can be found in remote, secure caves hidden away in the mountains.

If you are interested in joining one of our Wildlife and Flower holidays, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
