Rhone Wine Tour

This guided holiday is specifically for people who are interested in or enthusiastic about wine. Over the course of four days, we will take you, as part of a small group, to some of the finest wine estates in the region, our profound local knowledge and strong links with the region's winemakers gives unparalleled access to some truly great wines.

The Rhone Valley wine region is divided into two distinct geographical sub regions, and from our base we are ideally placed to explore both of these magnificent areas, visiting some very famous wine villages and discovering a couple of amazing wines that rarely escape overseas.

We expect to spend two days in the southern Rhone, sampling the delights of Chateauneuf du Pape, Gigondas, Vacqueyras, Rasteau, Vinsobres, and Beaumes de Venise. It's a beautiful area; vineyards and olive groves, lavender fields, rolling hills and azure blue skies, and the wines sum it up perfectly.

In the other half of the tour, we spend a day discovering the wines of Cote-Rotie, Condrieu, St. Joseph, St. Peray and Cornas, and a day with Hermitage, Crozes Hermitage, Brezeme and Clairette de Die. It's a rugged landscape, many vines are cultivated on steep slopes and the grapes picked by hand.

Over four days, we'll sample at least 70 different wines, and meet some talented and dedicated winemakers who will share their passion and enthusiasm with you. Along the way, you'll gain a better understanding of the effects of climate, soil and topography, or 'terroir'.
